Our 6th Annual Share the Love Charity Event, to benefit Make-A-Wish® and our local Wish Kids, is sponsored by Caddyshack of Palm Desert and will take place over Presidents’ Holiday weekend, February 16 & 17, 2013. The Event is created ‘menu style’ so that you may choose to participate in all the exciting activities or choose just one or two activities. We’ve created this Event to fit your busy life and your Desert interests: golf, tennis and dining!

Before reading about our exciting 2013 Event, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished over the past 5 years and who we’ve helped. To-date we have raised over $500,000 and have granted wishes for more than 70 local Wish Kids. Wish kids are children between the ages of 2 ½ - 18 years of age who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition defined as being malignant, progressive or degenerative. When we started this Event in 2008, it was a grass-roots endeavor to bring a greater awareness of Make-A-Wish to our area and of the special children who need our help. For some of these children, the ‘power of a wish’, their special wish, can give them the extra hope, strength and joy that they may need to help them be more successful in their fight against their illness.

This year, our message is Light A Life!, and there is no doubt for those of us who work closely with Make-A-Wish that together we can bring a therapeutic light and hope to many children. Our goal this year is to raise $400,000 so that our ray of light may burn bright and long to allow us to help another 70 children who deserve to have their own very special wish granted!

In keeping with tradition, we will once again offer a Doubles Tennis Tournament, a Golf Tournament and an Evening Event comprised of a sit-down dinner and both silent and live auctions. This is the premier fundraising event for Make-A-Wish local Chapter and we hope that you will help us spread the word and invite your friends so that each of our activities will be filled to capacity. It is only by pulling together that our light can and will shine long and bright! Please support Share the Love Charity Event and our local Wish Kids.

So please, print your registration and call your friends. See if you can fill a golf 4-some, compete in our doubles tennis tournament and fill a table at our Evening Event. But if don’t golf or play tennis, it’s OK to just come to the Evening Event with your friends. You not only will warm your own heart but I can guarantee that you will Light A Life! for some pretty special kids!

If you haven’t done so already, please view our Wish Kid Photo Albums from the past 4 years. You will be able to see some of the children, who have had their special wish granted and read their stories. Most importantly, you’ll be able to see their smiles and realize how much these wishes have meant to them and their families.

Closer to our event, we will begin cataloging the auction items, on this website, so please make sure to continue to check back and preview the wonderful items that will be available for auction at our Evening Event.
